AGAPE FEAST
You might be wondering, "What is an Agape Feast?" Great question! "Agape" is the Greek word for "love". Throughout the early church, Christians would gather on a regular basis for these "love feasts" (Jude 4, Acts 2:42-47) as an expression of Christian unity. These meals served to cultivate joy and gladness in the church because no one has more reason to rejoice than Christians. This is even more true in the season of Lent as we celebrate the death and resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ.
LOGISTICS
Feast Hosts
Each Missional Community has been assigned an upcoming date to function as "Feast Host". The Feast Host will help with set up, general hospitality, and clean up. A detailed checklist will be provided.
Food & Drink
The church will provide bottled water, wine, and juice boxes for the kids. We are relying on everyone to bring a dish to share with the rest of the church. Each MC will decide who in their group will bring a main dish, side dish, or dessert. It might be a good idea to make just a little extra to accommodate for guests. If you are not currently part of a MC you are welcome to bring whatever you like to share.
Food Drop Off
As you arrive at the church for worship the Host MC will collect your food and mark it with a dietary sticker. They will then take it downstairs and make sure that it gets in the refrigerator, plugged in, or in the food warmer.
Schedule
March 16th: Mexican
Host MC: Hickory Woods MC
July 13th: BBQ
Host MC: Aledo MC
December 14th: TBD
Host MC: Central Moline MC
If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to your MC leaders or Rebecca Clark
